JUNE 17TH, 2011

Look at this photo and take in and recognize the details of this beautiful city we have created. piece by piece, building by building. Each its own height, each it’s own structure, each its own color. (view in high resolution)

Now take a look at this photo. Recognize the details in this cluster of grass blades. piece by piece, seed by seed. Each its own height, each it’s own structure, and each its own color. This world has so much detail that it is virtually impossible to take it all in. (view in high resolution)

I spent the entire day in Brooklyn yesterday. I brought my camera along for the adventure. Most of my time was spent in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Williamsburg is full of creativity, originality, and everyone is super laid back. Never in my life have I been able to start conversations with so many strangers just walking down the street. These photos include cars, people and skylines. I didn’t realize that the biker in the last picture was throwing me the peace sign until I was processing it later today. If you look in the background, you can see a bundle of spray paint cans. Some guys were in the process of doing a huge wall design. as partially seen in the background. They were totally down to have me shoot photos of there work.

I had the opportunity this weekend to assist with a notable photographer by the name of Gareth Mcconnell. This was my first medium format assist shoot. I was a bit sloppy at first, but I felt I had the grasp of it the second day. The only “negatives” were the exposed roles.. and a GPS mishap. The photos will be an editorial in an upcoming issue of Real Simple Magazine.

I went to IKEA Brooklyn yesterday with madeline and we bought a money tree. The first photo depicts my average NYC commute. Always walking to your destination. Knowing where you want to go, but not sure how long it will take to get there. Waiting in line basically sums up this city. But I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way.

This should be very interesting... I created a tumblr account a couple of months back. After I created it, I realized that it was nothing I thought it to be. I am going to attempt to transfer every single post from the last couple of months into this blog. This should be very interesting. bare with me.
