I wish you were still around.
RIP Yassen

I appreciate the fact that I still have a passion for photography. I think I want more photojournalism in my life. Maybe I’ll be a photojournalist. For now, Ill just continue doing post production ;)
Ill post up some pictures to follow. It’s been awhile since I’ve done a photo post.
But anyways, It looks like im going to wait for the 4s release to get a new phone. I’ve still got another 2 weeks but I think it will be well worth the wait.
On the Note: RIP Steve Jobs. You were legendary
Also RIP Robert Golding. A very inspirational and photographer who knew know limits.
Its been a sad last couple of weeks.
Worked a wedding all day yesterday. 1:30pm to 2:30am. Fell asleep on the train on the way home. Woke up on the train at 10:30am. Found out someone had stolen my wallet and iphone. The weirdest part was that I was on the complete opposite side of the city. On a train I don’t think I ever got on. This is insane. Luckily there was nothing spent on my credit card, and I locked my iphone remotely, Including a message of how to return. Hopefully this means I can just get the iphone 5.

I want to see how little money I can spend in 2 weeks. Not sure when I want to do it yet, but I totally am going to. It’s going to suck. But with barely spending any money for 2 weeks, I can buy either another 70-200L 2.8 or a decent 24” Imac with some extra gnar RAMmage.
I can:
- Ride my bike to work
- Buy Beans, A loaf of bread, and some hot dogs from the rediculous puerto rican grocery store up the street, where they sell nasty ass hot dogs 4$ for 5 packs (60) gross.
- Not pay bills (easy)

Today I lost my old roommate and very good friend. Instead of writing a long post about everything, I’m just going to create a list of memories.
-My 21st birthday, I’m sure you’ll never forget that night either. Well, you might have forgotten some of it.
-Stomping our feet and snapping our fingers, getting wild to whatever band was playing in the “no name bar” on Boyer street.
-Me walking in on you full blown checking yourself out in the bathroom mirror. I had to piss pretty badly, but I decided to let you finish examining your pecs. At least until you realized I was standing there(no homo). At least you admitted it and didn’t make up a crazy excuse.
-Grilling out back. We used that charcoal grill so often, I think we burnt a hole through the bottom of it.
- That UFC Ultimate Fighter xbox game. We had no idea how the hell to play that game. I can just remember pressing the “A” button really quickly, punching your character in the face about 50 times in a row, and than wondering how anyone could survive that. But before I knew it, you were kicking me in the face, and you always seemed to win.
-Tagging the bathroom at tattooed moms
-Our ridiculous puns and made up pointless sayings that we could always get others to take seriously “you can take the hay out of a barn, but you can never tell the farmer where it went”
You were one of the most giving people I have ever met. I’m not just writing that because of the circumstances. I could honestly say that you were one of my best friends. I could tell you anything. We’re all going to miss you terribly. RIP Yassen Andreev
I am currently taking the chinabus to Harrisburg, and then getting my wisdom teeth pulled out tomorrow morning. Sounds like the perfect recipe for death. Only kidding, I know it will be fine.
But The chinabus sure did a good job of fulfilling its bad reputation by pulling up to the station at 50mph and running over all the divider cones. It was actually kind of funny. Not sure if anyone else saw the bad humor though. I’d much rather choose the sketch bus at $25 then Amtrak at $75 during peak hours.
Photo: somewhere in Chinatown near division street.
Traveling home from Penn station to Lancaster, PA for a meeting with an oral surgeon. Parting with my wisdom teeth next week :( not looking forward to it, but it’s something that’s I’ve needed to do for quite some time now. It would have been funnier if I made my appointment at 2:30. But I didn’t, and therefor is not funny. wisdom teeth are oxy-morons. But anyways.
Penn station looks like a military barracks today. Army guys keeping everyone safe with their M16’s.
Today marks 10 years since 9/11. Unbelievable it’s been so long.
But we are keeping our word, and we will never forget. RIP.

Had a great week. Got a bit too hungover on wednesday night. Regretted it fully the next day, swore id never drink again.
Earlier on Wednesday, we decided (roomates and I) that we would tear a hole into our wall, with hammers, double edged knives, box cutters, and more. And this was how the guest bedroom became the newest addition to our house. (pics soon to follow)
The other night I assisted a fellow photographer at Bloomingdales for the fashions night out event. I ended up learning quite a bit of useful information. Alexander Wang among
Many others were ones to show up, but sadly I’m not in the loop enough to know the rest of them.
Tonight, had a great time with the roomies in greenwich village/mpd we Scored some free fried green tomatoes, i had a fantastic burrito, and went back to the spotted pig for some porkslap ales. I even found a penny on the ground! but I never picked it up.
so last night I decided to pull an all nighter, I had nothing else to do, and nothing else sounded like a better Idea. Especially since I had slept for 17 hours the day before, after a treacherous work week. Anyways, I decided to stay up and take photos of the 6:25 sunrise. It was a bit of a disappointment because the weather was overcast and foggy. Here are the results anyways. taken from my rooftop. I also think I scared some girl who came on the roof to smoke a morning cigarette, when she noticed me above her. She looked quite the hungover.
Later today, I decided to go for a walk. i took the L to 14th, go onto the 6 to spring street. Lollygagged around, weaving in and out of people. From there I walked all throughout the west village, found some awesome restaurants and bars to keep in mind, then I headed over to the meatpacking district, climbed to the Highline and took a few shots. From there I decided to walk all the way back to union square, were I stopped at traders and got some freshly squeeze 100% organic fair trade no pulp orange juice (or so they say) and then finally decided to walk down to the 1st avenue subway. and venture back to brooklyn. Twas a beautiful day. Here are some photos
Our new roommates (or old) have officially moved in with us this past week. Very excited about this. Gair and Lena both decided to move in last minute, with the same idea as Madeline and I. Move to New York unemployed and lost, hope to get a job, and then try to make it in a city with 8 million others. They just recently got back from Russia, where they were at for the past 2 months. This is also where Lenas family is from. They visited China, bought some random shit, like gairs hardcore fox fur hoodie vest, rediculous exhaust tip (legit ricer paraphernalia) and Chinese PBR cans. Lena purchased a relatively accurate erect penis shaped bottle of brandy, most likely “blown” by a very talented glass blower. They also shot some awesome 645 photos, and came back with a bunch of stories to tell.
Traveling is something that I have always wanted to do, but I always seem to come up with lame excuses to put my plans off. For sure on the list of places to visit in the next 5 years, guaranteed, will include Edinburgh, Capetown, Prauge, and Barcelona.
AUGUST 26th, 2011
I can honestly say that I haven’t logged into my tumblr account for almost two months. Since I’ve last written, a lot of things have changed. Living in the new Brooklyn apt + New awesome neighbors. In fact, I feel like I am back in college. The other week our next door neighbors came to the door and said “Hey, so were having this party next weekend, you know, havin’ a band or two play. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up!” They ended up playing until 5. And not the 5 in the afternoon kind. Just last week my other neighbor across the hall locked herself outside of her apartment (she had been sitting in the hallway for around 4 hours) It took about 2 hours, but finally I broke into her apartment like a sketchy burglar with a shitty piece of bent metal. Good times… And then there’s the dude who asked me if he could borrow a stick of butter. and he used the word borrow.
So to recap. Since my last post I…
Moved to the Brookland
Found some awesome coffee shops
Had some magnificent pizza
Witnessed an fantastically talented alien mask wielding saxophone duo on the Union Square L line.
Fixed my bike.
Bought 4 new pairs of shoes. Pretty sure I like shoes too much.
Met oodles of new people
Attended our buildings annual 4th of July rooftop party. Almost got killed by stray mortar rockets. but it was all good
Moved back in with our old roommates from philadelphia (gair and lena)
Witnessed and felt a 5+ Magnitude earthquake in Manhattan. One of the areas largest in a long time
Hope to survive Hurricane Irene ( cat 2 ) which is expected to hit fully on Sunday.
I love New York. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me. I look forward to constantly bettering myself. No matter what it takes. I never truly understood this city until I moved here. It is not something you can put into words. the possibilities here are absolutely endless. Now if only I could look up and see the stars, this city would be perfect. And I’m not talking about staring up at a building in Soho. I<3NY
I’ll enclose a couple new photos In a following post.
JUNE 24th, 2011
As of Monday I picked up a new photography job. Full Time. I don’t think I am ever going to be able to sleep anymore, due to still getting freelance work from another local established wedding photography company. To give you an idea, I went in to work yesterday at around 5pm, I didn’t get home until 6am the next morning. I went home and got about 3 hours of sleep, woke back up at 9:30 and then went back to work to export a job. Meanwhile, I got a call from my new work, and they wanted me to make it in by 1:30PM, I just got finished a job tonight, around 3am. I’m not sure how many hours of sleep or whatever that is, but I don’t think it’s a lot. The scariest thing is that I am still awake, and its 4:15AM. I need to be up by 9. What I am getting at is that I think that this will be a very busy summer. Hopefully I will be able to save up some of this money and travel by next year. Sometimes I wish I could drop everything, walk to the airport, buy a one way ticket to some foreign country I have always wanted to visit, and stay for a couple of months.
Pretty soon I am going to start my mini editorial-portrait project. I am going to go around and approach people I see on a daily basis (homeless man outside of the grocery store, the mexican man who works at the flower shop, the bar local) and ask if I can take their photograph, I also want to collect information, telling me their stories. I am pretty excited to start…
GOODNIGHT!
